The famous Nigerian artist Wizkid was birthed in 1990 (June 16). Popularly known for his works within Nigeria and internationally recognized, this artist has been working in the music industry for almost two decades. Kicking off his career at the age of eleven, the artist keeps thriving in the industry and his success is a huge one.
The artist Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun was born into the polygamous family in Surulere, a small commercial district in Lagos State, Nigeria. The artist supposedly had twelve other siblings from the same father, Alhaji Muniru Olatunji Balogun. These children were believed to be birthed by three wives and they were all girls, as the artist was the only son of his parents.
Wizkid’s mother, Jane Dolapo was solely responsible for leading the artist to the path of music, as his Christian mother led him to start his singing career in church at the age of eleven. Although Wizkid’s father is supposedly a Muslim, his mother gave him a proper Christian upbringing.

In 2009, Wizkid joined the famous Banky W’s co-owned record label E.M.E (Empire Mates Entertainment). Soon after he got signed, the artist released his debut album, Superstar in 2010. One of Wizkid’s songs, “Holla at Your Boy,” his first single from the released music album gained fame and made the artist quite popular.
