The Port Harcourt based artist was born to Samuel Ogulu – his father, and Bosede Ogulu – his mother. The artist’s father headed one welding company while the mother was working as a translator. Being the only son his parents have, Burna Boy has three sisters. Burna boy’s state of origin is Rivers State in Nigeria.
Originally from Ahoda, a town in River State, the artist has a deep African root that blends greatly in his music. The rapper stems from a family that prioritizes education despite their great appreciation for music. Thus, the songster had an outstanding educational background, as he attended Port Harcourt’s Montessori International Primary School.
After obtaining his FSLC (First School Leaving Certificate), he left for Lagos, furthering his education in Corona Secondary School where he formed the Def Code.
